Frequently asked questions

How do Clay and Loops connect?

Through a webhook and Clay’s HTTP API enrichment. A Loops webhook sends new contacts to a Clay table, and the enrichment calls the Loops API to update contacts and send events. The docs walk through both directions.

Which Loops webhook event should I send to Clay?

contact.created. It’s the only event type that contains a full contact record, so each new contact arrives in Clay with all of its properties.

How do I send Clay data to Loops?

Add an HTTP API enrichment that sends a PUT request to the Loops update contact endpoint. It creates or updates the contact, and the request body must include an email.

Can Clay start a workflow in Loops?

Yes. Create an event in Loops and use it in a workflow with the Event received trigger. Then add an HTTP API enrichment in Clay that posts the event name and an email or user ID to the Loops events endpoint, with any event properties the email uses.

How do I know a row synced?

Run the enrichment on a few rows. A cell showing 200 means the request worked. If it fails, click the cell to see the error message from the Loops API.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan includes unlimited contacts and up to 4,000 emails to your first 1,000 contacts in any rolling 30-day window, marketing and transactional combined. Upgrade to send to more subscribed contacts.
