How Trails keeps email simple for a founder/marketer.
Ryo set up Loops in 30 minutes. Now an agent builds the emails, and their product updates average a 40% open rate.

Ryo Chiba is a co-founder of Trails, a company that turns screen recordings into polished employee training guides.

Problem
As a founder who also handles marketing, Ryo needed a fast, simple way to reach their leads and customers. He found that developer-focused email tools and marketing platforms each covered parts of the job, but using them all together was too much work.
Solution
Trails uses Loops for their lead signup emails and product-update campaigns. Their team set it up in 30 minutes, but this was before Loops released its CLI and skills. Ryo now uses an agent to set up emails and checks them in the Loops UI before sending. Trails’ “what’s new” emails see roughly 40% opens and over 10% clicks.
“It really hits that sweet spot where it’s just technical enough to do everything you need it to do, but simple enough where you’re not tripping over yourself to get the job done.”

Beyond setup, Trails uses the Loops CLI to audit its emails. Ryo’s agent pulls a workflow’s results from Loops, checks them against how far users actually got in the product, and suggests what to change
Going Foreword
Ryo plans to build more lifecycle emails in Loops, including trial-expiration and post-purchase retention emails. He also wants to use signup survey responses to branch workflows and is working on migrating Trails’ transactional emails from Mailgun.
