Transactional email is now free

Transactional email is now free

Dec 10, 2024

TL;DR

Starting today, all transactional email sends are free and included with any paid Loops plan, starting at $49/month. Our free plan has doubled to 4,000 sends, but paid plans now unlock unlimited transactional sending at no additional cost.

Why the Change?

As Loops grows, our goal is straightforward: give early-stage software teams a stable, reliable email infrastructure without forcing trade-offs between cost and quality.

By removing incremental pricing on transactional sends, we want you to integrate Loops confidently without having to worry about incremental pricing changes month to month and focus on building your product.

What’s Changing?

Previously, transactional emails were billed separately at $1 per 2,000 sends. Now:

  • Free Plan: Doubled from previous 2,000 sends/month to 4,000 sends/month

  • Paid Plans: Unlimited transactional emails included, starting at $49/month

With no cost overhead for transactional sends, you can route all product-driven emails (alerts, onboarding, feature rollouts) through Loops. This simplifies your email architecture—no need to split providers or manage complex rate limits as you scale.

Instead of micromanaging transactional volume, you can plan your email infrastructure budget with a single slider controlling your contact list size. As your user base scales, email costs remain predictable and transparent.

Why Are We Doing This?

Most companies raise prices as they mature. We think that’s a mistake. We want to be more accessible at all stages, and hope that as you grow, you’ll continue using Loops. We thrive when you thrive.

For many of you, these changes mean substantial cost savings, especially if transactional emails are a large part of your volume.

What’s Next?

We’re continually optimizing our backend and delivery logic to reduce costs and pass those savings on to you. All features remain included at any price point.
