Meet Cosmos
Cosmos is a discovery engine for creatives, helping people find visual inspiration online. We recently spoke with Luca, CXO and Co-founder at Cosmos, who led the migration to Loops.
“Loops is super simple, intuitive, and has everything we need without the bloat. Exactly what Linear is to project management, Loops is to email,” says Luca Marra.
The pain before Loops
The team used two separate tools for email. SendGrid handled transactional messages, while Braze powered marketing campaigns and push notifications. This setup doubled costs and scattered their data across multiple dashboards.
“Braze and SendGrid felt old-school and heavy, like Asana compared to Linear,” Luca recalls. They were also paying SendGrid just to store contacts they rarely emailed. Templates, contact lists, and reporting were all managed in different places, adding extra overhead and complexity.
Why Loops was the clear choice
Loops brought everything into one place.
Transactional emails, automations (we call them Loops), and campaigns now run off a single contact list while the UI was clean and fast to learn. “After a short learning curve, Loops just clicks. It’s intuitive and never over-complicates things.”
Cosmos also appreciated the plain-text-friendly editor, which aligned better with their brand after they ditched MJML. And, when questions came up, the Loops team was quick to respond on Slack through the dedicated Slack Connect channel.
How the team uses Loops today
Cosmos uses Loops to run a six-email onboarding sequence that welcomes new users and helps them get started. All transactional messages like verification, password reset, and receipts also go through Loops.
They also send a monthly “What’s new in Cosmos” email to their entire user base. An IP warm-up is currently in progress, with guidance from the Loops team. Segmentation is in its early stages, with plans to expand in the future.
Early wins and what's next
The impact was immediate with a single tool instead of two. They were able to remove duplicate contact fees, consolidate logins, designs and dashboards. The team also saved hours by not having to dig through cluttered settings. Thanks to clean, plain-text sends and a structured warm-up, deliverability improved as well.
The team plans to deepen segmentation, refine their drip strategy, and use Loops’ analytics to improve performance even more.
